The evolving demands of 21st-century society and associated recurring challenges, such as economic recession, poverty, social inequalities, climate crisis, and health crisis, are having a profound impact on the realm of education, which is in this way deemed inadequate in addressing the elevated social and emotional needs of young students, particularly in terms of fostering creative thinking, resilience, and creativity,  necessitating a shift from a 'learning to know' approach to one that emphasizes in 'learning to be, do, and live together'.

REIMAGINED project endeavors to jointly address EU-wide needs by providing pedagogical intervention frameworks to support educators in implementing a cross-curricular approach to enhance Socio-Emotional Education (SEE).

On the proposed framework that can be found below, which was recently created, educators can get an insight into the interrelation between SEE and arts education and identify arts-integrated practices. They can identify the training needs of diverse educators to deliver sustainable SEE programs through arts-integrated practices and find an assessment of the current needs for social and emotional skills of lower secondary students, with a focus on adolescents facing social exclusion, considering the impact of a year-long distance learning due to Covid-19.

What is more, the framework specifies the benefits of connecting curricular and extra-curricular school activities to emphasize hands-on learning and entails a whole-school action plan within and outside the school environment.
